Sea Day Number 1

Today is Monday and our first full sea day.  Weather is cool and very windy.

Last night we had cocktails and then headed to the Compass Rose for dinner.  They could not seat us at a table for two but we opted to wait for one to open up.  While checking in, Tom came over to see us and we chatted with he and Noel for a few minutes.  We then we seated at a great table for two by the window.

The menu here is Compass Rose is different from any of the other Regent ships.  On the left hand side of the menu they have items that are available everyday.  Things like Dover Sole, Lobster Tails, Lamb Chops, etc.  Makes going to the special restaurants unnecessary.  Bob had the Lamb Chops while I tried to stay healthy and ate the Canyon Ranch selection.

This morning we got up and headed to the pool to do our water aerobics.  The water was rather cold and the pool was rough.  Lots of wave action.  Like swimming in the ocean but you can touch bottom and no sand.  We did one half hour as you really get a work out fighting the waves.

Breakfast in La Veranda.  This is the buffet and we need to get pictures to show you all how nice it is.  I had yogurt and strawberries and then a blueberry muffin.  Good to eat light.  Then back to the suite until they wanted to make it up.  Then we headed to the coffee bar which they now call the Cafe.  Always a very popular place.

I started my new needlepoint project.  Another belt.  Not sure who will get this one.  Then up to lunch where we sat with Noel and Tom.  I just had a small salad and some crab claws.

This afternoon is a needlepoint get together and then tea and trivia.  They have moved trivia to the theater so that might prove interesting.  I think the tea drinkers did not like the noise of the trivia.  So now we need to decide if we want a cup of tea with trivia or not.  More on what we decide later.

Dinner again in Compass Rose tonight and we are eating with Noel and Tom.  Show tonight is a production number.  Not sure we will go.  Depends on the time we finish dinner.  If there is too much time, we tend to head back to the suite.

John Barron is our cruise director and we had him when we sailed on Seabourn a few years ago.  Very nice guy.  His wife and two small children will join him in Barcelona for a few days.  The boys were about 2 and 4 when we saw him last.  Be nice to see how they have grown.  We spoke with John this morning.  He remembers the cruise we were on.

Closing for now.  Will have Bob take some pictures of this ship so you all can see how nice it is.  This is spoiling us for the future.
