Bermuda Second Day
Thursday was our second day in Bermuda. We got up and headed to the pool. Well, the good thing was the water was warm. The bad thing was the air was cold and windy. Really windy. Everyone that passed us, thought we were crazy. We did stay in and exercise for the entire hour. The only part of you that was cold was your head and shoulders. You ran like crazy to get to the hot shower.
We then dressed and headed to La Veranda for breakfast. The rest of the morning was crossword puzzles and needlepoint. We decided not to go on our tour as it was a boat ride and the best way to see the homes was from the upper deck which meant you would be in the weather the whole time.
Had a quick lunch at the pool grill as all the seats in La Veranda were taken. Probably a good thing as we ate light. Then back to the suite to nap for Bob and needlepoint for me. The ship took off at around 3pm.
Needlepoint was in the Observation Lounge but we were not able to sit by the window so it was a little difficult to see as the lighting is not great up there. Then down to the theater for trivia. We did not win again today but at least the winners were a different team. We seem to get the same number of questions correct. Maybe we need to study more.
Tonight the Keene Travel group had a cocktail party and we attended. There are over 100 members of this group. We sat by ourselves as they were the only seats left. Tom came over and sat with us. This Tom is married to Mona and they live in Del Webb with us. He was an ABC news producer and retired in December and moved from Virginia to Ponte Vedra. We have had dinner with them several times at home.
Dinner was with Tom and Mona in Pacific Rim. What a good dinner. I started with Soft Shell Crab Tempura and then Miso Black Cod. All wonderful. We had decided not to go to the show as it was another production number. Tom and Mona decided not to go too.
The ship is really rocking and rolling. We heard that it might be this way all the way over to Europe. Will make for some interesting seas.
